Hi All,

I would be happy you left me know what's the difference between the two On Chip Memory components I see in my SOPC Builder...

Their names are:

Legacy OnChip Memory (RAM or ROM)

OnChip Memory (RAM or ROM)
First is the one provided with SOPC Builder and has a check box with the option: "Allow non-blank M-RAM Contents for Simulation" in the wizard, not provided in the second one...

The second is provided with Nios II kit...

Any idea?

Thanks all,

Paolo

Off the top of my head the latencies are different and the legacy one gives you some legacy SDK features. If you are starting a new design I highly recommend going with the new one (there's a reason why the other is called "Legacy")
