Question of epcs flash programmer

HI, evryone

i have designed a nios2 system, just want to use serial configuration

devices---epcs4 to store my program. i have followed the "Nios II Flash Programmer User Guide". the program can be download to the epcs4 but didn't work. this User Guide have more about the CFI flash programming, but have little about serial flash programming.

my system is like this:

1. 1-nios2 cpu; 1-onchip_ram 8kbytes; 1-epcs_controller; 4-pio

2. reset address is in epcs_controller; exception address is in onchip_ram;

3. use "mk_target_board" to make my own target board, and i did not refer the hardware image into the epcs flash, i just use epcs4 only to store pargram.

4. download a led_glitering program into the epcs4 through JTAG, at last download the *.sof to the FPGA through JTAG, but it did not work.

If you are using Quartus II 4.2, there are a few issues with the flashprogrammer.

i just use Quartus2 ver5.0 and NIOS2 v5.0. i can program the elf into the epcs flash device, but noly to find the led_glitering routine did not work.

We had the same problem!

We solved it by updating to V5.1 (Q2 and NIOS2)

It works!!

The FLASH programmer in V5.1 is completly redesigned .

I think a lot of peaple had problems with it!

But there's still a lot to do for the guys of ALTERA ...
