Hi,
I am upgrading a design based on a cyclone ep2c20 which used a sram IS61lv25616al,to a design using a Cyclone ep3c40f484. If i want to have a 32 bit wide ISSI memory device ,can I use a sram or do io have to use a ssram with the Cyclone 3. Many ThanksLink Copied

Do you have any indications, the SRAM won't work the way it did before?

Hi,
No problems, initally with reference to the the de1 demo board, sram is 256x16width. looking at the cyclone 3 starter board it uses a ssram 256x36,we want a device with 32 bit width, is this typical of such a cylone 3 system ? Can you use sram or ssram it seems that sram is less complex for schematics Many Thanks- Mark as New

SSRAM is sometimes preferred for higher throughput, but interface is different, not necessarily more complex, I think. 36 Bit is a common SSRAM type, but you can use it for 32 Bit storage of course.
