Is Hardcopy ASIC or Structured-ASIC?

Hello,

Is Altera's hardcopy a Structured-ASIC or simply an ASIC?

Although few research articles (in different conferences) by Altera talk about FPGA to Structured-ASIC conversion. However, altera's website calls Hardcopy simply an ASIC. Is it some marketing strategy, or is there some delicate technical difference?

It's structured ASIC. You can control only the top metal layers when migrate to ASIC.
