Hi,

I'm in PhD in French university: INSSET, UPJV.

For my PhD, I'm bough an IP Block which use an Cyclone III EP3C40F484C6N.

I'm some questions:

- I need to add different field buses to my project (CAN bus, RS485 -> Interbus, Modbus and Profibus). I need to buy a license to use it? Which license?

- With a license, I can use IP Block for free or I need to choose it and buy it?

Best regards,

Remy

you can look for opensource components on opencores (http://www.opencores.org), or go to the Altera website and browse the third party IP lists to find what you are looking for.

Most of the IP listed on the Altera website need an extra license that you will need to buy, but they also include support. Some of those components can be tried for free, with some restrictions (USB cable connected, and no possibility to flash the design, in most cases).
