Problem with Terasic Dual Phy ETHERNET-HSMC Card

Hi everyone,

I am using the ETHERNET-HSMC Card with two Marvell marvell 8e1111 phys on it with an Altera Cyclone 3 Development Board. I connected the Ethernet Card to the HSMC B Port. After start up I apply a 100ms reset to both phys. The weird thing is, that phy 0 starts auto-negotioation and the receive LED blinks when I send data from a computer. Phy 1 doesnt do anything at all, no auto negotiation, no receiving. When I signaltap the RX_DATA[0..3] signals of phy 0 RX_DATA[0] and RX_DATA[2] show the expected values, but RX_DATA[1] and RX_DATA[3] are on high level all the time. I double-checked the correct pin assignement. This is not the problem!

Did anybody else encounter this problem?

Thank you very much in advance!

Hello wolle86,

I write to you because I have a "similar problem".

I bought a TERASIC xsmc dual xaui sfp card, but I can't manage to have activity on the link, receiving or transmitting.

How did you configure the daughter card to have activity on the receiving path?

Thank you in advance.
