Hello,
I have a design which has 2 Qsys design inside it. I'm trying to monitor Avalon St Packet inside one of my QSYS system (Cam_Video_Process_Max). The design seems to work, video is passing trough the system. System console is able to connect to my design, it can detects the 2 SOPC files, but it seems that it is unable to connect to my Trace System (located in the Cam_Video_Process_Max QSYS design) because "trace table" is not available. As said in "ug_vip.pdf" on Trace System part: "When the System Console detects a trace system, the Tools menu shows Trace Table" In my case, Trace table is not there. As we can see in the screen shot, 1st Qys system "Cam_Video_Process_Max" has a different icon (a bullet point) from the other QSys system "Processor_nios" (a folder). Maybe a clue..? See the attached screen shot. Any idea? Regards. Running Altera 13.0 on Windows 7.Link Copied

I can confirm this. In order to get the trace system to connect automatically to JTAG you must select YES to "Export interfaces for connection to manual debug fabric"
That is correct you have to select "manual" in order to get automatic connection to JTAG. If you leave the setting in its default then the trace will not connect. This does contradict the documentation which states: --- Quote Start --- If you select the JTAG connection to the host, then the Quartus II software automatically makes the pin connection during synthesis. --- Quote End --- The default settings (No; JTAG) will NOT work. This is with Quartus II 14.0.2.
