Saw this great post about using quartus_stp.exe on a pc connected to a de0-nano's jtag:

In the past, I've always used altera's jtag uart ip with the terminal program (nios command shell) for simple command/status. However, from the blog post, it seems the virtual jtag ip is needed for quartus_stp.exe communication.
So I'm wondering, is it possible to connect the sld_virtual_jtag to the jtag uart, so that the nios still processes data as if it came directly from the jtag, but in reality came across the network?
