Stratix IV FPGA transceiver for the optical switching

Hi guys,

I'm trying to use the Stratix IV FPGA transceiver for optical switching application. When the optical switch is ON, the signal of the FPGA transmitter will be received by the FPGA receiver. When the switch is OFF, the signal of the FPGA transmitter will be blocked, and the FPGA receiver will not receive anything. Therefore, during the switch ON and OFF, the receiver will just receive the signal packets, and I want to test the packet BER (bit error rate).

However, when I used the Stratix IV FPGA trasceiver for such a burst mode (receiving the signal packets), the FPGA will be reset automatically. Anyone know a way to solve such an issue.

Thank you a lot
