How can I use/import a qsf file that has everything in it ( pin assignments, file names etc..) to create a quartus project?

Hi,

You can use Import Assignments dialog box allows you to import assignments from projects created in the Quartus II software into another Quartus II project.

You can specify the Quartus II Settings File (.qsf), Entity Settings File (.esf), Synplify Design Constraints File (.sdc), or an FPGA Xchange File (.fx) that contains the assignments to import..

You can also filter the specific categories of assignments you want to import.

  1. On the Assignments menu, click Import Assignments.
  2. Under Assignment source, select File name and specify the Quartus II Settings File.

For more information refer the Quartus handbook.

Let me know if this has helped resolve the issue you are facing or if you need any further assistance.

Best Regards,

Anand Raj Shankar
