Support for 3.3V LVCMOS

Hello, wanted to asked the community members on the thoughts why the new FPGA's such as the Stratix 10, Arria 10 and Cyclone 10 do not support 3.3V LVCMOS? If you wanted to use one of these you may need a ton of voltage translators? If I wrong please let me know and your comments.

Thanks,

Joe

Hi joe306,

Apologize that we do not have 3.3V LVCMOS supported for these devices. If you would like to interface with a 3.3V LVCMOS, I afraid you might need that.

However, if you look with our datasheet, the 3.0V LVCMOS can support VIH up to 3.6V and VIL up to 0.8V. If the 3.3V LVCMOS’s VOH and VIL are within the specification, you may directly interface 3.3V LVCMOS with 3.0V LVCMOS.

Thank You.

I can confirm that Cyclone10 nicely interfaces with 3.3V SD-Ram - we use th 10CL006 and 10CL025 with Etron and Winbond SDR memories.

greetings from Germany,

Jens
