Portwell, Inc., a world-leading innovator in the Industrial PC (IPC) market, is proud to announce their promotion from Associate Member to Premier Member in the Intel® Intelligent Systems Alliance. Moreover, Portwell also announces today the Portwell ROBO-8111VG2AR full size PICMG 1.3 System Host Board (SHB) which provides high performance graphics and flexible PCI Express expansion, ideal for a wide range of applications across several fields to include Factory Automation and Image Processing, as well as use in Kiosk, Medical, and Military equipment.

ROBO-8111VG2AR is based on the 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processors and latest Intel® Xeon® processors manufactured on 22nm process technology with energy efficient architecture.

  • ROBO-8111VG2AR adopts two-channel DDR3 long DIMMs, up to 16GB and ECC to support the Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1275v2 and the Intel® Xeon® processor E3-1225v2. The PCI Express 3.0 from the Intel® Xeon® processors provides three flexible combinations, one PCIEx16, two PCIE x8 or one PCIEx8 plus two PCIEx4 lanes for the versatile applications. The Intel Xeon processors on LGA 1155 socket are paired with the Inte® C216 chipset.
  • ROBO-8111VG2AR is also offered with the 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processor family with an integrated, enhanced graphics engine which provides significant 3D performance, up to DirectX 11 and OpenGL 3.1 for a broad range of embedded applications. Supporting optimized Intel® Turbo Boost Technology and Intel® Hyper-Threading Technology, the 3rd generation Intel® Core™ processor family, provides higher performance and increases the processing efficiency. The Intel Core processors are paired with the Intel® Q77 Express chipset.

ROBO-8111VG2AR has cross-compatibility with the Intel® 6-series chipset and the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processors which helped reduce the cost and time in board level design.

ROBO-8111VG2AR integrates dual Intel® Gigabit Ethernet LAN chips capable of supporting Intel® Active Management Technology 8.0 and also features four SATA ports which support RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 modes (two ports at 6Gb/s and two ports at 3Gb/s). ROBO-8111VG2AR with two serial ports (one RS232 and one RS232/422/485 selectable) supports legacy devices while it also provides one parallel port for traditional factory automation applications. The new feature, USB 3.0, provides upgraded bandwidth from 480Mbps to 5Gbps, greatly reducing the time for data transfer.

Having the ability to run multiple displays from one board is still popular in the market and the Intel chipsets offer versatile display interfaces. ROBO-8111VG2AR equips several types of displays, such as DVI-I (DVI-D + VGA) on bracket and HDMI on board and it can run dual integrated displays simultaneously.
