New Fan-less NANO-6060 Nano-ITX Board Offers a Low Power Solution with Increased Processing Performance

Portwell, Inc., (http://www.portwell.com.tw/ http://www.portwell.com.tw) a world-leading innovator in the Industrial PC (IPC) market and a Premier Member of the Intel® Intelligent Systems Alliance announces the release of the NANO-6060, an Nano-ITX embedded system board based on the Intel® Atom™ processors E3800 product family (formerly codenamed Bay Trail, 5W~10W). The new Intel Atom processors integrate the Intel Gen 7 3D graphics engine that improves the performance to double that of the previous generation. It supports one single channel 24bit LVDS connection, one DisplayPort (DP) on rear I/O with resolution up to 2560 x 1600 and one on-board VGA port with resolution up to 1920 x 1200. The 204-pin non-ECC SODIMM provides maximum memory, making it capable of supporting up to 4GB of DDR3L, all within a compact 120mm x 120mm footprint.

Energy Efficient, Compact and Powerful for Versatile Applications

The NANO-6060 Nano-ITX embedded board is built with the Intel Atom processor E3800 product family that not only operates with thermal design power (TDP) under 10W for fan-less applications, but also supports a wide industrial temperature range from -40ºC to 85ºC for rugged applications. With its superior up to quad core processing power and high capability, it generates and delivers greater and faster performance than the previous generation. A significant benefit of this platform is that customers using Portwell's NANO-6060 can design their own unique systems for Medical, Networking, Panel PC, Kiosk and Digital Signage applications.

"The single/dual/quad-core Intel® Atom™ processor E3800 product family provides low power consumption and advanced performance that meets the requirements of the market segments Portwell serves," says Ivy Chuang, Product Manager of Portwell, Inc.. "Because customers demand embedded systems that incorporate fanless design and higher CPU performance," Chuang explains, "Portwell has taken advantage of the new Intel Atom processor technology to furnish a series of products that can meet multiple industrial requirements for a compact systems that is fanless, cost effective and with greater CPU performance. The Portwell NANO-6060 is an off-the-shelf product designed with up to quad-core Intel Atom processor and can serve as an ideal embedded platform to be integrated in to many of today's intelligent embedded systems."

Portwell also designs the processor/chipset on the backside of the NANO-6060 board, which improves system thermal design. It enables true fanless configuration on an embedded solution. In addition, the NANO-6060 supports DC 12V input, one non-ECC SO-DIMM memory slot for DDR3L SDRAM up to 4GB, half-size mini-PCIE socket, dual display support by DP/VGA/LVDS, two Gigabit Ethernet, one RS232/422/485 selectable COM port, four USB 2.0 ports, two USB 3.0 ports, and one micro SD socket. It also provides one PCIE x 1 slot for riser card expansion.
