Hi All,

I have a cpu removed from an mayan city crb or maybe an aztec.... The crb was scrapped a while back, and I have one of the two cpus, both cpus didn't work in the A0 system.

Can I do anything with this cpu besides throw it in the recycle bin ? I tried it in an super micro x10 MB and it does not boot. If memory serves me right, the cpu was programmed for the A0/B0 grantely..

Any suggestions are welcome.. the cpu is QDCU 2.0 ghz.. Now that budget is tight, I'm forced to "repurpose" what's lying around..

Hello GaryM,

Thank you for contacting the Intel Embedded Community.

In order to better understand your consultation, could you please send us pictures of the markings of the scrapped Customer Reference Board (CRB) and the processors related to this situation? By the way, please update your Embedded Design Center (EDC) account to Privileged type. Hi Carlos,

Thanks for your speedy reply. The board was literally scrapped, meaning it went to reclamation and is now likely a pile of metals..

I did fill out the form as requested. This embedded R&D/POC project is integrating Intel Phi processors with Haswell-EP cores. We are hoping to shortly see multi-root PCI-E support in the Phi.

cheers,

gary

Hi Carlos,

Sorry it took so long to reply.. Its been a busy week.. I replied back to you email.. I'm still a bit confused. Mainly your team explained why the chip could never work in a Mayan City, when I personally removed it from a dual cpu configuration where it was working in a single cpu configuration. The dual CPU configuration was a bit troublesome, so I removed one cpu to get the CRB booting almost reliably. I had mentioned this in private email, but haven't heard a response back as of yet. Could the Mayan City been modified for the chips in hand ?

-cheers,
