Intel SSD DC P3608 4Tb max payload size

Dear Intel Community,

I have a question regarding Intel SSD DC P3608 4Tb max payload size.

I'm going to use it in the system with Xeon E5-2699 v4 and custom FPGA board. As far as I understand, Xeon E5-2699 v4 is able to provide 256 byte max payload size for the PCIe IIO in my case (according to the p. 6.13.3.19 in the "Intel Xeon Processor E5 v4 Product Family Datasheet Volume 2"). Also, according to the infromation I found, BIOS will set max payload size in the system based on the minimum supported value for the devices in the PCIe tree.

I'd like to determine which payload size I will have for that particular PCIe tree, so I can build a firmware for the FPGA according on the actual payload size value.

Best regards,

Igor.

Hello, IAstartov :

Thank you for contacting Intel Embedded Community.

In order to find the information that may help you, could you please clarify if this threat is related to the Intel(R) Xeon(R) E5-2699R v4 or Intel(R) Xeon(R) Processor E5-2699 v4?

Waiting for your reply.

Best regards,

Hello, Carlos_A.

It will be Intel(R) Xeon(R) Processor E5-2699 v4, not another one. Is there any major difference between the two?

Best regards,

Igor.

Hello, IAstartov :

Thanks for your clarification.

In order to help you with your http://ark.intel.com/products/91317/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-2699-v4-55M-Cache-2_20-GHz Intel(R) Xeon(R) Processor E5-2699 v4 consultations, we suggest you address them to the https://communities.intel.com/community/tech/processors Forum: Intel Processors Community because it is out of the Intel Embedded devices family.

On the other hand, the differences between the cited devices can be found at the following website:

We hope that this information may help you.

Thank you for the answer, Carlos_A.!

I am going to address my questions about http://ark.intel.com/products/91317/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-2699-v4-55M-Cache-2_20-GHz Intel(R) Xeon(R) Processor E5-2699 v4 to the forum you mentioned.

But maybe you can still help me with my main question regarding Intel SSD DC P3608 4Tb max payload size? As far as I understand, this SSD uses NVM protocol which is base on PCIe, so there is a Maximum payload size advertised in the corresponding register. But what is the maximum possible payload size for this particular SSD? I've mentioned http://ark.intel.com/products/91317/Intel-Xeon-Processor-E5-2699-v4-55M-Cache-2_20-GHz Intel(R) Xeon(R) Processor E5-2699 v4, because I was thinking that to mention every part of the PCIe tree can be helpful in resolving of my SSD question. Or maybe, I missed something, and this question is out of the Intel Embedded devices family too?

Best regards,

Igor.

Hello, Carlos_A.!

Thank you for the link! It wasn't quite clear for me in which part of the Community I should have posted this question, so I put it in ther first part I found. Seems that I should have more sleep during workdays. Thank you again!
