Intel My Wireless Technology doesn't see my internet connection?

When I attempt to "Share my internet" using Intel My wireless Technology it says it's not connected to the internet, when in fact it is. I have a Sprint Dell™ Inspiron™ Mini 1012. Please help!!!! I've tried completely disabling the firewall as well as uninstalling McAfee.
