I have 10 or more profiles in the Intel PROSet/Wireless software some of which work and some don't. Other connection failures never resulted in a profile. The failures seem to occur when "N" is available on the network, be it open (public) or security enabled. If nothing higher than "G" is available, the wizard gets me connected. Using the same responses in "N" fails which most often involves failure of the "association" test. I have done all the troubleshooting recommendations in the software, tried to let Windows run the card, rummaged through Google searches and these forums. A local paid IT geek got it accomplished for a crucial business connection but I wasn't there and when I asked later what he did, he said that he could not remember...."I just played around with the settings for awhile".
