How to tell if my i7 920 is bad? Gigabyte says mobo is good, ram and PSU are good.

Stuck between a rock and a hard place.

Machine built with parts from Newegg, run once a week to do A/V duties. Everything done conservatively for stability, no overclock, ran great for 24 months.

Machine just stops booting one day. Hit power, fans click on for a second, then shut off. This is a video of what it did:

Replaced PSU, same thing. Did one RAM stick at a time, same thing. Different video, same thing. No POST beeps.

Got an RMA for mobo, Gigabyte said it checked out and did not require a repair.

How can i test the processor without buying one?

A somewhat difficult method, but one suggested by Intel in this forum in the past, is installing it in another (X58) mother board PC that is known to work, and see what the result is.

Otherwise, I am not aware of a standard or simple (or difficult) test procedure for testing CPUs, such as with a volt meter or other equipment. How does Intel do that? Who knows...

So the CPU looks fine on the bottom? No burn marks on the pads? The CPU socket is obviously Ok according to Gigabyte.
