Intel i5 560M vs i5 2520MHello,

I am trying to see if the i5-2520M is worth the upgrade from the i5-560M.1. Is the http://ark.intel.com/products/52229/Intel-Core-i5-2520M-Processor-%283M-Cache-up-to-3_20-GHz%29 Intel® Core™ i5-2520M Processor (3M Cache, 2.5 GHz) faster than the http://ark.intel.com/products/49653/Intel-Core-i5-560M-Processor-%283M-Cache-2_66-GHz%29 Intel® Core™ i5-560M Processor (3M Cache, 2.66 GHz) ?

The Intel Core i5 2520M has a little better performance since it has newer features; however the difference is not that big so I see no real reason to upgrade.

Please double check the comparison chart that you provided; and you will notice that there is no big difference.

Here are some performance numbers (check the "Performance" tab:

As a note, the i5-2520M will not work for you if you're planning to upgrade just the processor. i5-2xxx and i5-xxx use different sockets, not compatible with each other.
