Can anybody explain to me why the card mother intel d915gav is compatible with a processor intel pentium iv 630 and it is not with 631? They have the same characteristics!!
Will I ever be able to use the configuration Processador Intel Pentium IV 631 Motherboard Intel D915GAV? Are there no plans of correcting this?
Thanks!!

Hello,
Actually, the cpus may have some similar characteristics but they are NOT the same. Sometimes, even same model CPU are not even the same, because they have different core stepping as well. Sometimes these are fixed by a simple bios upgrade where it adds the new cpuid as new cpu support list.

But regarding your case, this board is already EOIS. There wont be able any new bios now.
EOIS

The last bios that was released was Version 0482, dated 23 Feb 2006

Note: Use of unsupported processors may result in improper operation, damage to the desktop board or processor, or reduced product life.
All the best,

Aryan.
