Greetings everyone, I turn to you in great dispair. Got this small netbook with a GMA 945 chipset, and am trying to plug it to an external Fujitsu Siemens TFT through single display mode. Now the funny thing is, it should be working, but it don't. I have set panel fit options to maintain aspect ratio (since my external monitor does not support the same resolution sizes as my notebook display), but when I plug it an hit the keys to activate it the TFT will just turn black (no suspend mode, its lights flash blue and stay) while the notebook display turns itself off. If I use the intel clone display settings I can manage to get both displays to run at the same time, which is not what I want though. I need be able to just use my external monitor when at my work place. I updated the GMA drivers today from version 6.14.10.4906 to 6.14.10.4926, hoping this would solve the problem. That's a negative. Checked out the other multiple displays option called 'Extended Desktop', won't work at all, TFT turns itself off when I try turn off the notebook display OR the TFT will have mixed up aspect ratios, unable to display even the small 1024x600 resolution of my notebook instead zooming in dramatically (and happily ignoring the maintain aspect ratio setting of my GMA).
My netbook has no viruses, backdoors, my windows seems otherwise fine and flawless (we still talking about a MS OS, so.... just grant me that it runs fine for the moment). Cannot do a format, although I believe that wouldn't help fix the problem at all.
Any ideas, workarounds, solutions to enjoy working with my external TFT and my notebook display switched off then?
I would much appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Oh, below you will find the info that my GMA driver gave me. And should say I'm open to basically anything as long as it does the job. That includes using third party software as long as its verified. Thanks.
