Hello,
Is this processor supporting the 64-bit instruction set? If I go here: http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=42920 http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=42920 the webiste says yes.
But if I compare some products, http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=38512,42920,33924, http://ark.intel.com/Compare.aspx?ids=38512,42920,33924,, the Instruction Set field is unfilled for this CPU.
I ask this, because i'm having problems installing VMWare ESX 4 on a PC having this CPU... Might the problem come from here?
Best Regards,
Levente Rog

Hello,
There are some other ways to check whether the cpu supports 64 bits or not.
1. Use the CPU Identifier Utility Tool
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download.aspx?url=/7838/eng/pidenu24.msi&agr=N&ProductID=1881&DwnldId=7838&strOSs=All&OSFullname=All+Operating+Systems&lang=eng http://downloadcenter.intel.com/download.aspx?url=/7838/eng/pidenu24.msi&agr=N&ProductID=1881&DwnldId=7838&strOSs=All&OSFullname=All+Operating+Systems&lang=eng
2. Try to install a 64 bit OS.
http://www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/download http://www.ubuntu.com/GetUbuntu/download
3. Check in the bios setup
All the best,
Kind Regards,
Aryan.
