hello, i am experiencing this problem with openGL games on windows 7

im using the Intel 965 express chipset graphics

i have the latest display driver installed

i can open the game and i will hear the sound from the games just fine, but my screen goes completely white and does not display the game

is there a workaround to this? ive been reading around and apparently this is an old problem that never got resolved with windows 7

thanks

so today i made another partition for the 32 bit version of windows 7 (i had the 64 bit version already) just to see if open gl would work and guess what...

it works

i dunno why but it must be missing or configured wrong in 64 bit windows (not sure if vista 64 bit vs 32 bit would give same results but im guessing it might)

Bringing this post back because Ive got the same problem... the latest drivers for the intel 945/965 graphics have serious compatibility problems with the 64 bit version of windows and opengl applications. The generic driver will run these programs but the speed of the generic driver is dismal. the applications load as normal but have no display output. you can still hear sound/menus etc.

Is there any fix so that we can use the 64 bit version of windows?

Forget Intel graphics! They still have substandard HW and now also dumbed down the driver so that it is now completely unusable. C'mon ... even the PC version of "Angry Birds" isn't running on an Intel GPU ... and that's as simple as can be!

After /message/125331# 125331 my problem that I raised in May remained unaddressed, I had to switch to a competitor's HW which is now working well.

Bottom line: Intel may be producing a lot of fine HW, but their Graphics HW is best to be avoided.
