I have an ASUS f50 series notebook. it has a intel core 2 duo P8700. this is a link to the processor specs. http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=37006 http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=37006 now what is preventing me if any thing to upgrade it to another chip.? besides heating issues would it be possible to upgrade to a similar chip but faster. say a 3ghz or quad core?
I was looking at the mobile duo processers and found this one http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=42599 http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=42599 its a P9700, macthes the one i have now but its just faster. Can any one inform me about why more powerfull processer will or wont work. and what is the fastest i can put in this machine? thanks
