Hyper threading off - Unable to POST/boot

Been running this config for months, stable at 9+ hours of prime95 (probably more if I had the time). Yet when I only turned off HT and tried to reboot it wouldn't reach POST but turn off after 3-4 secs and do this in a continuous loop. Typical behaviour of an undervolted cpu but shouldn't turning off HT rather reduce the power needed rather than increase it, or is the problem elsewere? Thanks on beforehand!.

I did consider it but couldn't be arsed but as I see no other suggestions I don't have much of a choice, being away in another city for work I'll try this when I get home in the weekend. Thanks mate, any more input is most welcome.

If u can't update the bios there ar stil some options open it depends on what u have tried to update it.

Tell me the name of the computer if prebuild.

If it is a computer that you made yourself i need your motherboard name.

Ill hear it when u have the time.

Shouldn't just installing the latest bios be enough as the latest (should) contain all the newest updates also the ones from previous versions, as with any drivers? flashing anew for each new version will be a pain (and probably unnessecary).

I updated my bios to the newest now and I'm now able to turn off HT without it crashing down. Thanks for the help.
