Hi
My computer has a security policy applied (since it syncs with Exchange) that forces the system to go back to the login screen after a few minutes of inactivity. So, then when I'm not using my GB-BXi7-4500, after a few minutes, the display goes into power save mode and I get the lock screen. When I return, I move the mouse, the display turns on again and I have to login in. Now, about one out of 4 times, I get to see my desktop after the credentials were accepted for less than a second, then the picture turns black, then after a second or two, I get picture again and notification message (eminating from the intel driver taskbar icon in the lower right) telling me that the GFX driver has crashed and has been recovered.
This happens only in this scenario, in about one out of 4 times I re-login, never on a full login (after the machine has started).
It happens with both the latest drivers (15.33.8.64.3345) and the previous version (15.33.5.64.3316).
Needless to say I'd like to avoid those crashes.
I can provide logs/traces/whatever needed to get to the bottom of this.
Cheers
Stephan

Hello ssteiner78,
Please try updating the bios in your system. You can get it at the following link:
http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4736# bios http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4736# bios
It is also important to say that it is necessary to install the latest Management Engine driver provided by the computer manufacturer. Since you have installed the drivers from our side, I recommend you clearing the CMOS and doing a power cycle.
If issue persists I recommend you contacting the computer manufacturer for any diagnose from their part or replacement if necessary.

There's only one BIOS - in my case revision F2 was already pre-installed. I also have the upcoming F4 BIOS from Gigabyte for testing (dual screen issue with a 4K screen...), but it didn't change anything.
I also have the management engine driver installed available from Gigabyte's homepage (http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4736# driver GIGABYTE - Desktop PC - Mini-PC Barebone - GB-BXi7-4500 (rev. 1.0)), Driver version is 9.5.0.1428. If there's a newer one, please point out the proper download - your own driver update utility (http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/detect Intel® Driver Update Utility) does not even detect the management engine drivers and searching for them brings up a couple of conflicting downloads.
I can hardly imagine this being a hardware issue seeing that the problem is very specific. It doesn't even occur if Windows brings the lock screen if the lock screen just needs a klick / key press to get back to the desktop, it really only happens if there's a lockscreen, the user is already logged in, and I have to re-enter my credentials).

The Intel® Driver Utility will detect the controllers and devices on Intel products this may be the reason why it is not working properly for your Gigabyte system.
At this point, since You have tried the steps below, I recommend you contacting the computer manufacture for them to check your system.

Gigabyte wanted me to RMA the device - having bought it in another country that wasn't an option.
However, the last two official driver releases seem to have fixed things... I've yet to encounter another driver crash.
