Hello,

I suggest you to test using the latest generic driver on our web site. It is posted on the following URL:

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+controllers&ProductProduct=Mobile+Intel%C2%AE+4+Series+Express+Chipset+Family&ProdId=2991&LineId=1101&FamilyId=39 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+controllers&ProductProduct=Mobile+Intel%C2%AE+4+Series+Express+Chipset+Family&ProdId=2991&LineId=1101&FamilyId=39

Also, update the codec packs in your system and update the video players being used. As a matter of fact, it seems to me that you may actually have a codecs problem.

Concerning the problem with Direct3d being disabled, I suggest you to try the troubleshooting p[posted here:

I have installed the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Windows 7* 64, Windows Vista* 64 (exe) before In fact I have tried that twice

and the

Intel® Chipset Device Software (INF Update Utility) Primarily for Intel® didn't work ether I'm still having the same problem

this guy has a similar problem as me http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=36807.msg353252# msg353252 http://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=36807.msg353252# msg353252

and what he did to fix it was

Instead, it was the "graphics acceleration" under the display > advanced setup options. By turning off all the acceleration, everything works a treat (except catalyst control center).

BUT I CANT do that when I try to do that I cant Lower the graphics hardware acceleration to the lowest level.

Start " Settings " Control Panel " Display " Settings " Advanced Troubleshooting

it doesn't let me it says

and now I just found out my computer won't let me VIEW PICTURES ETHER the screen is just white I just went threw all the pictures on here and none of them load

I'll try the codecs but I don't think this is going to fix them I THINK THIS is the graphics driver

when I uninstall the graphics driver everything works I can watch videos and view pictures but the the computer says Direct3D is missing since I uninstalled the graphics driver

so EVERYTHING IS POINTING to the graphics driver. how can it be the codecs? VLC player uses its own codecs and its not working.

I bet If I reinstalled Windows it would fix this but I have all ready done that TWICE in the last month

edited........................ I have installed the K-Lite Codecs 64bit Pack and there's still no video with any programs

and my pictures wont load with Windows Live Photo Gallery or the Windows Photo Gallery

BUT IT WILL load pictures with QuickTime Photo Viewer or Paint

OK I was right it IS THE Graphics Driver I had to use internet explorer for someting and it wasnt working pages wouldn't load so I googled it and found this

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-networking/internet-explorer-10-wont-display-page-while-i/ffa8727f-df2c-4d7e-b3ef-7377f26bb80b?msgId=89139d7f-a476-4d74-96cd-e09513fa091f http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-networking/internet-explorer-10-wont-display-page-while-i/ffa8727f-df2c-4d7e-b3ef-7377f26bb80b?msgId=89139d7f-a476-4d74-96cd-e09513fa091f

then Gfxuiexe crashed and stopped responding. so I googled that and now I'm trying to give it full access to the computer and to repair it. HOPEFULLY this works because the graphics card is effecting A LOT OF THINGS. its like only half of it is performing.

also I thought the Microsoft .NET Framework files would be involved in this.

http://www.articlewritingclicks.com/Exe_Errors/Gfxuiexe_Has_Stopped_Working_Error_Repair_Tip.html http://www.articlewritingclicks.com/Exe_Errors/Gfxuiexe_Has_Stopped_Working_Error_Repair_Tip.html fix this

Intel you should really fix this

like you have such a Good name IV'E NEVER had problems with something by Intel

PLEASE RESPOND to this.

edited..................................... OK so apparently when I took off Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 from programs and features it made the Gfxuiexe start crashing.... buit I put it back on and the Grpagics card is STILL NOT fiunctionb corectly.

And even before I TOUCHED the Microsoft .NET Franework files the grapigcs card want working. After this started haeppenifn tho I updated all the Microsoft .NET framework files

From the report you sent I can see that you were not using the generic driver I suggested.

The generic driver on our site is 15.17.18.2555 (also known as 8.15.10.2555) released since October 2011 with no similar issues being reported or detected.

Still you could try with version 15.17.17.2413 (8.15.10.2413) also posted on the URL below and test.

http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+controllers&ProductProduct=Mobile+Intel%C2%AE+4+Series+Express+Chipset+Family&ProdId=2991&LineId=1101&FamilyId=39 http://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?lang=eng&ProductFamily=Graphics&ProductLine=Laptop+graphics+controllers&ProductProduct=Mobile+Intel%C2%AE+4+Series+Express+Chipset+Family&ProdId=2991&LineId=1101&FamilyId=39

Trying these two known working version they confirm that the issue is unrelated to the video controller driver.

Well I fixed it now, I used the Reinstallation discs AGAIN but this time I said "Retain user data and reinstall operating system"

After that the computer update to Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family but it was working.

I KNOW THE problem was the graphics card, because everything was pointing to it. It must have been some of the files in the system32 that were corrupted that argue used by the graphics driver like

Like I said I started having problems with the Mobile Intel(R) 4 Series Express Chipset Family THREE days after I updated to it.

and when I uninstalled it all the videos worked and pictures worked. I honestly don't know what caused this. I thought it might be Direct X 9 but after I reinstalled windows and Direct X was not on the computer the pictures and videos worked.

You took way too long for you to reply to this. I waited SIX days for a reply.

honestly I don't think any of the other drivers would of fixed the computer.

Hello,

We are glad to hear that you were able to resolve your issue.

If you indicate the the issue started after updating the driver, then the issue in fact could be that the drive got corrupted or you were having instability issues due to the usage a of a generic driver, instead of using the customized driver provided by the laptop manufacturer.

Keep in mind that the drivers on our site are generic drivers that are not tested and developed specially for your system. So each Original Equipment Manufacturer provides their own set of customized drivers to support the changes they have done to the computer. Therefore we always recommend on using the driver provided by the computer or motherboard manufacturer.
