I am a bit of a dur-brain when it gets into the real techy stuff on computers. Brought a Dell Inspiron 1545 couple of months ago - then this last week - the laptop was taking about 10 mins to start-up (once booted performance was fine); though graphics looked stretched. Ran 'Tune-up Utilities' and it identified a problem with both (seem to have two) of the intel mobile series 4 chips. The Device Manager said: ' Windows cannot load the device driver for this hardware. The driver may be corrupted or missing. (Code 39)'.
Ran the update chip utility -said it was upto date:
Driver date 03/06/2009
Version: 8.15.10,1808
And on the Intel utility said it was a customised version from Dell.
Any suggestions for a fix?
thanks in advance...
