Intel Centrino Wireless-N 6235 - antenna specifications

Hi, I am purchasing a Dell desktop (OptiPlex 9010) and will be purchasing an Intel Centrino Wireless-N 6235 wireless adapter to add wireless capabilities (specifically with WiDi to connect to the projector as this computer will be used in the boardroom).

I've spoken to Dell and it's all compatible and supported - just not covered by warranty obviously.

As I will have to purchase adapters for the antennae plugs I wanted to ask which antennae I should look for. I already know I need u.fl to either RP-SMA or N pigtails to plug in to the external antennae, however, not sure which antennae to pick as there are 2.4GHz and 5GHz options.

I gather I will need one of each but I can't find anywhere that states the specification of which plug is for which.

Does anyone know what specification antenna should be plugging in to which antenna port?

Thank you for your post Freddy.

Note that since these wireless adapters should be installed by the laptop manufacturer only, there is no integration support or documentation publicly available.

The only two Intel® wireless adapters designed for the end user install are:

Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 6205 for Desktop (part no: 62205ANHMWDTX1):

Intel® Centrino® Advanced-N 2200 for Desktop (part no: 2200BNHMWDTX1):

Both of the above mentioned are PCIe x1 based, and already include the antennas.

I hope this helps.

Unfortunately that's not very helpful. I looked for both of those adapters prior but no one seems to stock them in Australia, furthermore the desktop we are interested in (an ultra-small form factor) only has a mini PCI-e expansion slot.

Fingers crossed someone can answer my question :/
