Video display will not display Dell Precision 5130 -

I have a new Dell precision 5130 with factory built-in AMD Firepro W5130M, and INTEL HD 530 display adapters. I am attempting to get a video stream from a Milestone camera feed but images will not display. Drivers for both adapters are up-to-date as is the Milestone software.

Hello, sr77318:

Could you please provide me with the name of the Milestone software you are using? I would also need the report from the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/Intel-System-Support-Utility Download Intel® System Support Utility, please download the utility and attach that report.

Regards,

Amy.

Thank You for getting back with me. Attached is the log file from the support utility scan.

I am currently running the latest version of Milestone Xprotect client for a 64bit machine which is version 10.1. I have also attempted to downgrade to earlier versions with no luck.

The machine is bundled with an Intel card and a AMD card for some reason. I have tried every driver update possible with no success.

When I open Milestone, all preforms as expected, I just get no video display. I am at a loss….

Thanks for your help!

Thank you for the report.

You can try updating your graphics drivers to the latest, see the links below; however, the issue with the video stream could be related to the software configuration. Since I am not familiar with this software I believe you should try contacting http://forum.milestonesys.com/ Milestone - Milestone Systems - Forums for XProtect® Software first, if they confirm that the issue is in fact a graphics issue we can continue from there.

They were of no assistance either.....The BETA driver you suggested will not install in a DELL laptop as the DELL video driver is proprietary to Dell and Intel. All the latest DELL drivers are installed....

/thread/105725 sr77318, I am sorry to hear that, let me see what I can do from my end. In the meantime, please try this method in order to ensure the installation of the driver; http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html How to Manually Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 &..., let me know how it goes.

Manually deleted Dell driver and manually installed the BETA. Showing driver version 20.19.15.4474 under graphic properties, with issue date of June 13th, 2016.

Same result in the Milestone program....no video displayed...

Thank you for trying that driver.

I would need more information in order to address this matter, so please provide me with the DxDiag report. See the instructions here http://www.isunshare.com/windows-10/4-ways-to-open-directx-diagnostic-tool-in-windows-10.html 4 Ways to Open DirectX Diagnostic Tool in Windows 10, once done save the information and attach it.

I noticed from your report that the version installed is .4483. Did you downgraded the version .4501 to that version?

Could you please provided me with the name of the Milestone software version? I know you mentioned that you are using the Milestone Xprotect client, but I cannot find it here https://www.milestonesys.com/support/download-software/?type=11&lang=27 Milestone Systems - Download our video Management Software. If I am wrong; could you please clarify that? I would also like to gather more information of the camera you have, please let me know the model and how you are connecting it to your computer.

In post # 5, I quote; "They were of no assistance either.....". What did they say in regard to your issue? Was there any troubleshooting involved? Please, feel free to add all the details you can.

Regards,

Amy.

.4483 is the latest offered by Dell via support website, I attempted .4501 from your support site using the driver update utility you provide, and was given an error message indicating the driver is not compatible with the Dell PC

See Attached

Use this method for the installation; http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005474.html How to Manually Install a Graphics Driver in Windows 7*. This method will ensure the installation of our driver.

/thread/105725 sr77318, I am missing some information from the last post; could please check post # 12 and reply to that?

Thank you.

.4483 is the latest offered by Dell via support website, I attempted .4501 from your support site using the driver update utility you provide, and was given an error message indicating the driver is not compatible with the Dell PC

I then completely wiped out the .4483 driver, rebooted and did a manual install on the .4501.....

The verdict is.....

TaDa! It now seems to be working!!!!

Must have been a bug in the Dell driver

Thank You Amy!

As another reply to my # 15, for those out in cyberland, Windows update will try to force you back to .4483. I simply hid the update and all is harmonious in pc land now
