I have a laptop with an i7 6700HQ (Intel HD graphics 530). I'm having quite a bad time connecting the laptop to an external monitor via HDMI.
For starters, I can't open the Intel HD Graphics when connected to the monitor. Then, after a few time using it, Windows Explorer starts lagging really bad, and recently it started flickering the image A LOT. Once I disconnect, all is well in the laptop screen.
I really need to use the monitor, what can I do?

Hi EdwardFFS,
I understand you are having issues while connecting an HDMI monitor to the laptop. I would need more information on your system; if it is possible to send me the results of Intel® System Support Utility.

Let me know the resolution that you are using with the HDMI display.

Hi, thanks for the reply!
I recently found out that once I connect the monitor, NVIDIA (a GTX980M) takes over automatically so I suppose it has nothing to do with Intel HD. The lag was originated, surprisingly, by Google Chrome. Once I turned off Hardware acceleration it came back to normal.
I should have deleted or updated the question, sorry to bother you 😕
