what temperature is ok for my processor?

Hi, I havea core 2 duo E7400.

I can´t find this anywhere so I´m wondering how warm my processor can be without any problems? I use speedfan and if I have my fan on max I have both processors at around 46 degrees. But I don´t want the computer to be so loud so if I only go with 45% of my fan the processor can be up to 58 degrees.

Is this a problem and where can I find some onfo about it?

I am assuming that the cpu that you are using is fully compatible with the board and it is on the board compatibility list.

First thing to do is to:

1)check for latest bios release notes and if needed update to the latest version:

2) Where are you reading the temperature from?

3) Are you using any tools? If yes which one

a) If it is an intel motherboard, try the tool from Intel to read the temperature

Note: This cpu can go up to 71.4C (even 5c more i will say).

If you have temperature higher than 75C using the Intel Desktop Control Center, then it can be due to any of these:

a) bad integrationb) PSU not ATXv2.2c) Chassis is not TAC (Thermally Advantage Chassis)

d) Test the system out of the chassis if needed

The maximum temperature for your processor is 74.1°C, if your current temperature is below that one, this means that your processor is running within the normal specifications, you can check your processor features here:
