Intel P55 Sata Raid + Hotplugging

Hi,

i have a Gigabyte P55A-UD4 Mainboard and used the intel Rapid Storage to build an Mirroring Raid. Also i use a ICY BOX Mobile Rack for SATA HDDs.

When i insert a HDD into the Mobile Rack the sata controller detects the new hdd but starts at the same moment with rebuilding m mirroring raid

When i eject the hdd of the mobile rack i get no error and everything works fine. When i insert the hdd in the mobile rack before my pc boots there is also no problem only when inserting the hdd in running. The problem exists under windows XP and 7(no difference).

it was a problem of the power supply of the hdd. one of the raid disks had the same hdd power supply cable like the mobile rack.

so i changed the power supply of the raid disk to the same an the mobile rack on one free cable and it works
