Can two E5335 cpu's of different spec run together in a duel cpu server?

Hi,

We have a HP DL380 G5 that was purchased a couple of years ago with a single E5335 cpu installed.

We now want to install a second E5335 cpu, but I can not find the sSpec of the original cpu and I am unable to find an E5335 that has the exact same config.

The nearest I can get is the sSPEC : SLAEK which runs at the same speed, FSB and has the same cache and core.

However, it does have different Intel technologies such as Execute Disable Bit, Intel® EM64T, Enhanced Intel Speedstep® Technology which th eold model do not have.

Is there likely to be issues with running these two cpu's together?

Cheers,

Barry.

this is a question that you should be speaking to HP about. They will have detailed specs about the motherboard and will be able to give all the answers (hopfully) aobut it.

On the intel website, you can find some references to mixed steppings but it is always dependant on the motherboards.

Cheers Oj.

As it happens, our reseller has been in touch with their dealer and with HP direct, but neither have been very forth comming with information.

I will see if I can find out anything myself.

Cheers.
