Background: had working ASUS P5Q-E system with Raid5 set using 3 ~700GB drives. Decided to upgrade to 3TB drives. When I installed the first drive (as an extra) I discovered that intel matrix storage was out of date and would not support >2TB drive, so updated to 11.6.1030, along with chipset drivers.

Now 3TB drive worked ok, so copied entire original raid set to the single drive. Then removed original raid set of drives and installed other two 3TB drives, intending to "upgrade" from single drive to a new raid 5 set.

However, the iRST screen does not show any option to create an array.

Only one disk has been partitioned and formatted (it is NOT full, about 2GB left). The other two are uncommited. The system disk is the SSD.

Win7x64, P45/ICH10R chipset

Here is the system report if that helps...

Hi!

I see that the Option ROM of the motherboard is still version 8.0.0.1038 so; I recommend updating the BIOS of the computer. BIOS updates will come with updates for the Option ROM as well which may help to fix this issue.

Since the operating system is installed on the SSD then you can try creating the RAID volume from the RAID BIOS. You can access the RAID BIOS by pressing Ctrl+I during POST. If you create the RAID 5 from the RAID BIOS using just the mechanical hard drives then the information that is on the SSD will not be deleted.

The bug is still present in 14.8.0.1042. No create button in RST interface. When will you fix it? Paul does not need a bios upgrade, Intel raid is a software raid, the bug is in drivers or in RST GUI. Please forward this bug report to the actual driver developer.
