Hi everyone,
I'm having problems with Hyper-threading in my new build.
My setup consists of:
Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 OS
ASUS Maximus IV GENE-Z motherboard
i7 2600K 3,4 ghz CPU
8GB Corsair Vengeance Low Profile DDR3 1600 mhz CL9 RAM (2x4GB Kit)
OCZ Vertex 3 120 GB SSD
Corsair HX850 PSU
When I have HT enabled I get random reboots and crashes and it seems like one of the threads is not working properly.
For example if I run HyperPI 1M one of the threads/cores only calculates 16K so the 1M calculation fails. I don't have this problem when I turn off HT.
I ran Prime 95 with HT disabled for six hours straight with no errors.
With HT enabled I'd usually find that the computer rebooted during the night as I left it running while I slept.
Everything is stock, no OC whatsoever. Vcore was around 1.248v, VCCSA/IO 1,05.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with my CPU? Could it be damaged?

I would suggest installing the latest BIOS version for your motherboard, and also if possible please test the processor on a 2nd motherboard, to see if it causes the exact same issue.
If it does cause the same issue on a 2nd supported processor, then the processor will be faulty, if that is the case, I would then suggest contacting the local Intel Customer support center at:
