Future Support For Valleyview (3rd Gen) Chipset

Hi.

I have a two year old Acer Aspire laptop that uses a Valleyview chipset. Acer hasn't pushed out any drivers in nearly two years for this chipset, but back in April, 2016 Intel did. I installed the 15.33.43.64.4425 version of the graphics driver for Windows 10, which solved all of my problems and made my games run better.

Now we are getting to the point where it's been over a year since Intel released a driver for Valleyview. This begs the question: has support been dropped for this chipset generation?

Thanks!

Hi Moggie: Thank you very much for joining the Intel® Graphics communities.

In regard to your inquiry, in order to try to find more drivers for your system we just need a few details:

What is the model of the processor?

What is the specific model of the laptop?

Any further questions, please let me know.

Regards,

Hello Alberto.

According to System Requirement Labs:

Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (build 15063), 64-bit

Acer Aspire E5-511-P2D6

Hi Moggie: Thank you very much for providing that information.

I looked for the latest graphics driver for the Intel® N3530 processor for Windows® 10, and as you mentioned before, the latest version currently available is 4425, the one you already installed. There is no confirmation stating that Intel will release a new driver version for this graphics controller, so in this case the best thing to do will be to keep checking our web site for future releases:

At least there is a newer driver on 3rd party websites, e.g. http://support.ts.fujitsu.com/content/QuicksearchResult.asp?q=10.18.10.4491 Fujitsu Technical Support pages

(DriverVer=07/12/2016, 10.18.10.4491)

Also the developers forgot about Baytrail in https://github.com/GameTechDev/gpudetect GPUdetect

https://github.com/GameTechDev/gpudetect/commit/3d1b455c6b5227c57c27f60223dfea08e55fd4d6 I made a pull request

Hi Stefan3D

Acer really needs to up their game if places like Fujitsu have it. If this laptop were a Fujitsu, I could use it, but no.

Hi Alberto

Well, guess I will just have to wait. As long as my applications and games can still use an older driver without issues, I can live with it.

Thanks

David

Hi Moggie: You are welcome. Yes, exactly, if the applications and games are working without any issues with an older driver, then there is no need to update it. However, as mentioned previously, if by any chance Intel releases a new driver you will be able to see that in our web site.

Any other inquiry, do not hesitate in contact us again.

Hey Stefan3D. Thanks for the news. I've updated my driver so that should hold me for a while.

Thanks again
