ok. but where do I get the downloads for turbo boostv1.0 and 2.0????? intel phone tech support says that I need to download them and that their website no longer has them! apparently intel has "discarded" them and I have to go hunting for them on third party sites. I looked but only ended up with sites that nearly infected my computer with a boat load of viruses!!!!!

As long as Turbo Boost is turned on (in the BIOS), you need not do anything. Just check the bios of your particular machine.
And, stay away from 3rd party sites for your own protection.
