Hi everyone.
On the 14th of May I upgraded my gaming rig with a new motherboard, graphics card and processor.
Originally I had a Intel i3 2120k and upgraded to a Intel i5 4690k.
My question is that ever since I upgraded them and installed the drivers via CD for motherboard and card, updates ect the Action Center on Windows 8.1 says "Instal your chipset driver".
I clicked this and went to the website it linked me too:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23109 Intel® Download Center
I downloaded this and when it finishes it says some generic error occurred with this code "intel smart connect error code 2753"
I googled this and someone on this forum had the same issue and the answer was that someone else uninstalled the old and reinstalled the new.
Im not sure what to do in this case as I don't want to delete the wrong thing. My guess is that I have to remove the old i3 data from my hard drive?
Anyway thanks for reading and if I need to provide screenshots or additional info please let me know.

My best recommendation is to do the BIOS update. This BIOS can be obtained from the OEM side.
Once it is updated, check for the latest chipset and ME driver provide also by the Computer Manufacture.
You can also uninstall the graphics driver by doing these steps:
http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034574.htm http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-034574.htm
You can download the driver at this location:

Ok I downloaded the .exe version, not sure it makes a difference but when it finishes extracting the files it comes up with an error:
"This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software"
This is the only thing I did reading your reply, I am a little confused by the OEM side, the OEM of what? The Processor?
Could you please provide some info on what I should look for? Once I have that I'll do a quick google for BIOS updates from whatever the OEM is.
Thanks

With my notebook its Intel i5 M645 - I had the same problem
1.) That error is found when I use 64bit software in a 32bit Computer
2.) The Intel i3 or i5 or i7 series has different generations and I found that error
3.) That error is found when I use 32bit software in a 64bit Computer
4.) Therefore no one knows which diver I should use.
Strange that Intel made it and a company sold yet nothing to explain what to use - correctly
I find it strange to be bullied or goat me into buying something else when I just recently
bought this just because Microsoft decided to create a different version of Windows
Which therefore can make it useless to use the newest version of Windows or useless to use Intel.

Chris_c987,
What I meant by "OEM" was the manufacturer of the motherboard you're using. There are no processor drivers, so if you're looking for chipset drivers, you need to contact the motherboard manufacturer. For example, if you have a Dell system, you should contact Dell.
