changing my fan

Hello everybody

i ve just bought a new proc i7, but the fan given with it makes quite a lot of sound when i play games ...so i was wondering...could i loose the garanty if i decide to put a quiet fan on it ?? it might be a silly question but i d rather ask and feel stupid then lose my garanty ^^

Hello Runinck,

Changing the original fan of your I7 processor is not going to void the warranty of your product. However please make sure the new fan you are getting complies with the TDP of your processor.

The TDP could be found with the complete processor model number on http://ark.intel.com ark.intel.com

On the other hand, could be that you have a defective fan, so if you prefer you can contact you local warranty department and ask for a replacement cooling fan.
