Overclock only for single thread performance

Hi.

I need better single thread performance. If I increase the multiplier, am I increasing only the max turbo frequency of a single core, or the base frequency of all cores, or both? How can I overlock only the max turbo boost frequency, and leave multiply core clock unchanged? So that less heat will be generated.

In regard to your question, if you increase the multiplier you are increasing the base frequency of the processor not the Intel® max turbo boost frequency.
