If one uses a usb dac and tries to play a dts-hd master or dolby truhd blu ray movie on his computer's blu ray player, will (s)he experience dts-hd/dolby sound through the usb dac? According to kaby lake's data sheet, audio pass through for dts-hd master and dolby truhd is supported when using an hdmi or displayport connection. What about when using a USB connection?

Hi eyw,
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I understand you need compatibility information for the USB DAC and a Kaby Lake processor.
I was checking specifications for HDMI and Display Port audio support and indeed you will be able to play AC-3 Dolby, DTS-HD and some other audio formats through those video ports.
I regret to inform you that Intel does not have any type of audio compatibility information when using USB-DAC device. I would recommend contacting the device manufacturer and check the supported audio formats.
Hope it helps.
Allan J.
