notebook i7 720QM 8 cores to 4 cores

I bought an Asus G51J notebook with corei7 720QM and Windows 7 home premium.

Some days ago I installed Windows 7 Professional on W7 Home premium partition and all drivers disapeared.

I redownloaded many drivers and now i got 2 problems, one of them is that there are 2 not working devices and my corei7 is now showing only 4 cores (2 phisical and 2 virtual).

How do i fix it? i´m trying to update the BIOS with Asus BIOS update file but i couldn´t.

What sould I do???

I would suggest running the Intel® Processor Identification Utility, if this tool reports the correct processor information, then it is an operating system issue, so in this case you will need to contact Microsoft*, also you can contact the laptop manufacturer, which in this case seems to be ASUS*

You can download the Intel® Processor Identification Utility at:

http://www.intel.com/support/processors/tools/piu/ http://www.intel.com/support/processors/tools/piu/

If the Intel® Processor Identification Utility does not report the right processor information, then try the latest BIOS version for your laptop, and if the same issue continues, you will need to contact ASUS* for any warranty option.

The expected information matches the reported.

4 cores expected... but... 4 cores without hyperthreading right?
