Hi,
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I've got a new i7-975 in an Intel DX58SO motherboard for my HTPC, working a treat but the blue LED for the heatsink fan is on and this shines out the back of the case and is distracting while watching movies at night in the dark. Is there a way that the LED can be disabled so this wouldn't be as frustrating?

I have the Extreme heat sink as well and found the light to be distracting and frankly useless (listen up Intel, if you are going to light it please put a switch on it too). I disassembled mine and unsolder the led's. If you remove the fan from the heat sink there is a bit of plastic tape covering the bottom bearing. Remove the tape and you will find a clip. Using a clip spreader remove the clip and the fan will separate from the windings. Now you can access the led's and remove them.
