My question is about comparing the following sets of processors:

Dual Quad Core Intel 5430 @ 2.66 GHz

vs.

2 * 5160 Intel Xeon Dual Core @ 3.0 GHz1

I am trying to find out any information about the Dual Quad Core Intel 5430 and if the performance would be significantly better than the performance of 2 5160 Intel Xeon Dual Core processors.

well that would depend on how multithreaded your application(s) is(are).

but if you decide to get the dual core processor you might as well get the 45nm version of them. E5240 has dual core, same speed but bigger cache and less power compared to the 5160.
