Apple is being shifty

Apple just recently announced that they were putting new Intel processors into their Macbook Pros. The default processor for the 15 inch macbook pro is listed as 2.2GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7. The upgrade option is 2.3GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7. No model numbers are given for either so I can't track down each processor and compare them. I contacted apple (via chat) and they said that the model name is confidential which Is silly. Anyone know what the model is for these two processors?

Apple makes great products, but their secretive nature regarding the components they use is the one (?) eccentric thing about them. As their products are aimed more at those that use PCs for a specific purpose rather than also as a toy, (I do love my PC toys!!) they are not concerned with hawking all the PC enthusiast details. IMO, that may also be because they tend to be one step behind the market place in using the latest and greatest.

So the secret is out with the info in that link. Or maybe not, as there are two 2.2 and 2.3GHz mobile processors as you can see. It looks like Apple is using Intel's latest i7-2000 series CPUs, given the CPU speeds you quoted, so the list of possibilites is short. Beyond that I have no idea which ones they actually use.
