Hello samirmehinovic,
Please compare Intel http://ark.intel.com/products/53434/Intel-Core-i3-2330M-Processor-3M-Cache-2_20-GHz?q=%20i3%202330m Core i3-2330m with http://ark.intel.com/products/64889/Intel-Core-i7-3820QM-Processor-8M-Cache-up-to-3_70-GHz?q=%20i7%203820qm Core i7-3820qm, both processors are not exactly equivalent with each other. In other words, your system might not be easily to support upward processor without enough support from your system manufacturers. Upgrading processors for notebook computer is not always an easy and safe job, and it would break the initial design purposes which your system manufactures put into your computer. So I suggest you to stop doing that! Never take adventures before contact with HP.
Best Regards,
Aaron Janagewen

Hello samirmehinovic,
Thank you for joining the Intel communities.
In this case, before trying to replace your processor, I strongly recommend contacting your system manufacturer HP as they are more familiar with your system configuration and how all the components interact with each other.
Even though the socket is the same for different processors your system has a microcode that controls the operation of your device and interpreter between the hardware and the architectural level of a computer and it will not be compatible with all processors.
Best regards,
Ivan

The i7 3820qm is not compatible.
Technically, you could put this cpu in there - Intel Core i7-2960XM (3.7Ghz Quad Core) Mobile Extreme Edition - FF8062700834603
http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i7/Intel-Core%20i7%20Mobile%20Extreme%20Edition%20i7-2960XM.html http://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i7/Intel-Core%20i7%20Mobile%20Extreme%20Edition%20i7-2960XM.html
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Core-i7-2960XM-Extreme-Edition-2-7-GHz-Quad-Core-FF8062700834603-/171990145186?hash=item280b6958a2:g:mPsAAOSwu-BWO~KF http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Core-i7-2960XM-Extreme-Edition-2-7-GHz-Quad-Core-FF8062700834603-/171990145186?hash=item280b6958a2:g:mPsAAOSwu-BWO~KF
But it's 55watts instead of 35(see compat list here: http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_i5_Mobile/i5-2430M_%28PGA%29.html http://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/Core_i5_Mobile/i5-2430M_%28PGA%29.html), and as the other guys said, you need to check with your manufacturer to see what cpu they maxed out that system with. There are cooling, power, and bios considerations that are motherboard/physical architecture dependent.
