Sony Vaio ac7260 bluetooth problem

HI to all,

As the title suggested, this is another question regarding the compatibility with older hardwares. Before anyone just tune me off, I have to say I have tried all the fixes I could find on the forum. I have taped both pin 20 and 51. I have tried installing from admin cmd with LPUSBHUBWA=TRUE. but still my bluetooth would not work. The thing is under device manager, my computer clearly identifies the card, with the exception 3 exclamation marks for 3 "bluetooth peripheral device" All the services related to bluetooth are turned on, yet when I try to add a device or open connected devices, nothing shows up. I have also tried another ac3160 just to see if it were a defective card, but they both show the same problem. My computer does not have a separate hardware switch for BT, only one for both WIFI and BT.

Any help is welcomed.

Thank you!

Thedch,

Do you know what the peripheral devices are? It could be that old exisiting files from previous paired devices may be causing the issue. Is this wireless card the original one installed by factory or did you install it later? Intel recommends that you always contact your computer manufacturer in order to obtain the latest updates: http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support

What is it you are trying to do, send and receive files, listen to music, connect a mouse or keyboard...etc?

Have you tried to remove the 3 devices? Here is how you can do it.

  1. Click the Start button , click Control Panel, click Hardware and Sound, and then click Bluetooth Devices.
  2. Select the device that's not working, and then click Remove.
  3. Click Add, press the reset button on the device (or make it discoverable following the manufacturer's instructions), select the My device is set up and ready to be found check box, and then click Next.
  4. If the device is not found, repeat the previous step. When the device is found, select it, and then click Next.
  5. Follow the rest of the instructions in the wizard.
  6. Microsoft* also offers assistance managing Bluetooth*-connected devices using Windows* : http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/troubleshoot-problems-with-bluetooth-enabled-devices Troubleshoot problems with Bluetooth enabled devices

Alternatively you can look at the information on these links as they may help you resolve this issue:

You can also try to clean uninstall the drivers to the point that Windows will no longer detect it and then reinstall them back from the OEM.

Aleki,

This card was not originally in this computer. It had an 2.4 ghz N and a separate bluetooth receiver card (those little tiny ones). My bluetooth gave out a while ago, so I just recently decided to buy this combo card with both wifi and BT. I am just trying to gain back what I had in BT such as pairing with BT mouse, BT headphones etc. I have tried many unistall reinstall, take out 3160 for 7260 and even back to the original. All these were done with uninstalling the drivers first then installing the proper driver.

This is the weird part about all this, I can see my BT listed in device manager with proper driver and everything. but those three mysterious devices that keep coming back in between my wifi card switch. But I cannot see them under devices and hardwares. There simply isn't a bluetooth section as it used to be. To me, it seems like the computer knows it's there but doesn't know what to do with it. I have tried to add, check for existing devices but no devices ever showed up. I tried calling intel and Sony and neither could give me a concrete answer why BT isn't working.

I hope i'm making it clearer what problems I have.

Hello tkedch,

It could be that your system may not be fully compatible with wireless adapter since it is an integration. We recommend that you contact your OEM and check if they have any updates that might help you resolve this ssue. On the othe rhand, we would like to inform you that Intel does not support integration which is when the original wireless card is replaced. Please check this link for further information: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/cs-011644.htm Intel® Wi-Fi Products — Regulatory Information Regarding Hardware Installation or Upgrade

Also, some headphones Bluetooth* profiles may not be supported by the adapter. Unfortunately we can not go any further on the troubleshooting since it is an integration. Please, find your computer manufacturer contact information here: http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support
