Should I Get Rid of Manufacturer Driver?

Hi, I've downloaded a game and when it opens it tells me that my driver needs to be updated. My HP EliteBook 2570p has its own drivers and I wanted to know if it would be okay to get rid of my computer's driver to a more updated Intel 4000 driver with no issues.

Thanks in advance!

Hello brendanstark8 ,

You can update your system to an Intel generic driver, but please bear in mind that your computer manufacturer may have altered the features, incorporated customizations, or made other changes to your driver. Once you install the "generic" driver you will overwrite any customizations your system manufacturer made to the driver specific for your system model.

Before installing the generic driver uninstall the old one first.

You can download the latest driver for the Intel® HD Graphics 4000 here:

In order to install the generic driver you can follow manual procedure, please see http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/graphics-drivers/000005629.html How to Manually Install an Intel® Graphics Driver in Windows® 10 & Windows 8* or Windows 8.1*"
