Hello,
I'm planning to buy the Toshiba Satellite A500/040 which comes with a Intel® Core™2 Duo processor T6500 processor. I get an upgrade to Windows 7 on October 22 with it. Can I upgrade to Windows 7 64 bit on it? Also if I go for a A500/042 i get a P7350 processor. Would Windiws 7 64 bit work on that one? I really appretiate the help.

Thanks for the reply,
I was concerned because of these two posts :

Also the laptop I intend to buy comes with Windows Vista, and after Oct 22nd can upgrade to Windows 7. So after I install Widows 7 64 bit, and say I dont have a few applications running on it, can I reinstall Windows 7 32 bit on it?

yes you can, you just choose fresh install from installation option....
here some referrences from microsoft:
If you want to run Windows 7 on your PC, here's what it takes:

Some games and programs might require a graphics card compatible with DirectX 10 or higher for optimal performance
For some Windows Media Center functionality a TV tuner and additional hardware may be required
